CYCLE COMPUTERS AND POLAR HEART RATE MONITORS
Cycle computers measure time, distance travelled and speed.  Computers with more functions are available including average speed, maximum speed and cadence (the number of pedal revolutions per minute).

Heart rate monitors are also available with many functions.  The most

basic indicates your current  heart rate.  Heart rate monitors are fantastic for all levels of fitness ensuring your workout is achieving your ideal.

SADDLES
The saddle and its position can make or break your enjoyment of cycling. 
Women specific saddles are available in many models. As a rule, women's saddles are usually shorter in length and wider at the rear end.  Girls, these make a huge difference to your cycling enjoyment!  There are many different types of saddles - women's, gel, triathlon, downhill, BMX, racing, sprung, etc.  Suspension seatposts are also an option to aid comfort.

 

CLOTHING
Jerseys (cycle tops) aid coolness or warmth, are lightweight and more comfortable to cycle in than a t-shirt.  Bike nicks are usually made of

lycra, lightweight and have a chamois protecting that all-important crotch area!   The leg length helps stave off chaffing also.  Gloves also aid in hand, shoulder and neck comfort when riding and can protect your hands should you fall.
